Questions About Our Safety Procedures

At RSC, we work closely with railroad companies across North America to ensure that their safety standards are up to par. When you work with our team, you are setting your workers up to be the best that they can be. Our training programs offer a vast amount of information from the most knowledgeable of those in that field. Here are a few commonly asked questions we receive about our process and our courses.

My company is relatively small. What size companies do you service?
RSC services railroad companies of all sizes. Since safety never takes a break, our team will always be just a call away from helping our clients establish themselves in safety protocols.

Does RSC offer an online training program?
Absolutely not!

Here at RSC, we believe that safety should be a hands-on only curriculum! Let's face it, how many times have you had to sit in front a computer for hours on end watching a mandatory timed video or answer questions at the pace of the computer program? With that, how much knowledge did you retain from the mandated program? We want to ensure our clients have the absolute best training provided to them and their teams! We will travel across the globe on our dime to ensure that the best safety training has been delivered.

What makes your safety program different than others?
Our program is not only completely customizable to our client's needs, but it also contains the leading industry knowledge and covers the scope of all railroad operational safety procedures. Our program also offers a management training portion that will allow our clients the ability to self-manage their own safety programs and safe working conditions. Furthermore, after the initial audit has taken place, RSC will build a team of Subject Matter Experts around the issues that were discovered. In other words, we will tailor a customized team of professionals that will be dedicated to the lagging areas!

Do you charge per person for your courses?

Nope! RSC is here to teach SAFETY, not to scam! So send one, or stack the class. It is our goal to change the mindest of everybody that works on or near the railroads so of course we would love to reach out to as many people as possible!

We have been doing things the same way for 25 years and things have been ok. Why change what we are doing now?
Things being "ok" and things being "incident free" are two different practices. The mentality of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" has been long over exaggerated. Maybe, a certain way has worked for other companies in the past, but has it been the safest AND most efficient? There is a common stipulation that safety hinders production, when in fact, the exact opposite is true! Worldwide studies have shown that not only do companies double their investment in safety, but they actually create a better and more efficient workplace for their employees and greatly reduce the risk of incidents.

Can RSC train my mechanical department?
Aside from generic OSHA and safety training, RSC does not specialize in railway maintenance training. However, we are currently in the process of developing a division specifically for railcar repair and maintenance. Given our highly professional teams, our recruitment process requires us to find only the best in the field. In the near future, we will put together another outstanding team.

Does RSC offer new hire training and new to craft orientation?

Yes! RSC trainers will provide a complete new hire training program and new to craft training program to ensure that your employees / students can hit the ground running. We want to provide our clients with a new type of workforce! One that will be safer, better informed, and better prepared! 


How do I know what areas are lacking in safety within my company?
Good question!

RSC will provide a team of safety auditors to monitor, record, and create trends for the safety infractions that have been observed. Using our rigorous compliance policies, we will then evaluate what areas need to be improved upon and finish a thorough report for our client's management team.

We will then sit down with our clients and recommend the best program that will fit their needs. We let our clients pick and choose any additional programs that they would like to see implemented to ensure their employees safety.

How much do you charge?
Our prices are competitive with market standards. Let us be upfront. Our clients do not have to worry about those over priced contracts when working with RSC. All of our programs and pricing are extremely affordable. Our motive is not profit! Our motive is to usher in a new type of railroad worker! It is our highest priority to provide you with the best services possible, therefore, the training that our clients receive measures far beyond what our competitors offer.

You will spend far less on our services than you do on the salaries of your safety and training coordinators throughout the year.
